Virtual Community Workshop
More than 300 community members shared their thoughts about the project through a short virtual community workshop in November 2018.
Pop-up Workshop Series: September 2018
In September 2018, the City and project team held two pop-up workshops to engage local residents, business owners, bike commuters, and community members along the West Capitol Avenue corridor. Pop-up workshop participants learned about the West Capitol Avenue Road Rehabilitation and Safety Enhancement Project and provided their input on existing conditions along the project area and proposed bikeway improvements.
The first pop-up was held on Monday, September 24 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Yolo Causeway Bike Path.
The second pop-up was held on Wednesday, September 26 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Joey Lopes Park.

Stakeholder focus group meetings: august 2018
In August, the City and project team met with stakeholder representatives including business owners, properties, the school district, and local churches to introduce the project. During these meetings, the project team presented an overview of the proposed improvements along West Capitol Avenue and answered stakeholders’ questions. Stakeholder representatives provided their input on existing conditions, access points, and potential challenges and opportunities along West Capitol Avenue.
